The day unfolded with a productive meeting with the Principal of Imdadiya, finalizing the details of upcoming tuition sessions for the students. Subsequently, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Anees, a senior from IIT Gandhinagar, who visited from his thesis fieldwork. We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the beach before diving into my classes at Educare, catering to students in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades.
As evening descended, an exciting stroll through the picturesque locales of Kottaramthuruth and Cheramanthuruth awaited us. Our exploration included a visit to the Cheraman Juma Masjid, fueled by the quest to uncover Cheraman Perumal's connection to the village. After tuition classes at Imdadiya, a visit to Muthalappozhi and the Harbour provided valuable insights into local issues. Engaging conversations at Adani’s intrusion site and discussions with Haris Ahsani illuminated the community's situations, controversies, and miseries.
We took a visit to the Faqeeran Dargah in the evening, coupled with a detour to the beach, added depth to the day's experiences. The exchange of old newspaper cuttings on Perumathura and the promise of the Faqeeran Maala from Ahsani enriched our understanding of the village's history. Despite a missed meeting with the Snehatheeram managing committee of Educare, the day concluded with nighttime tuition sessions for students at Imdadiya.
